Meet the Team

Marg Booth

Marg has an extensive background in the service industry of Retail and Corporate travel. Her roles included Corporate and Leisure Consultant, Business Development, and Management positions. In her latest travel role she was awarded the Australian Branch Manager of the Year for Thomas Cook Retail Travel and Foreign Exchange.

Following the travel industry the challenge was to find a role that was equally as exciting and fulfilling. After a short period at Great Expectation, Marg purchased the business in 2004.

“Buying Great Expectation has been the greatest achievement of my career to date - I finally found my niche! I value the relationships I have made during this time. The clients and presenters have become very close associates and friends, and it is the people, as well as the enjoyment of assisting with the events that I love so much. It gives me great satisfaction working in such an exciting industry, and having the opportunity to be involved with the organisation of so many wonderful client events.

I work with a team of amazingly dedicated and exceptional girls who all perform to the max - Janelle, Jennifer and Karen, you Rock!!!

My objective is for Great Expectation to be a true leader in the Speakers Bureau industry. I value being able to continue maintaining our high level of service to our clientele, and also the respect we have from our peers within the industry”.

Karen McAllan

Karen has joined Great Expectation after a very successful career in the service industry of retail travel. With a smorgasbord of Sales accolades and achievements within her 20 years - her decision to change is very exciting for us.

“The change has meant a whole new learning curve for me; however it is the new challenge of success that is appealing. I enjoy the personal interaction with clients and the feeling of satisfaction for the client and myself when everything works to perfection – which is my aim”. Karen McAllan

Jennifer Matton

Jen has a background with a strong focus on events management and communications. Previous roles include membership and events, marketing and customer service in the tourism industry and events management in the IT industry.

Looking for a change in direction after eight years with an industry association, the ideal opportunity came up for Jen to work with the team at Great Expectation.

Janelle Bell

Janelle completed her bachelor degree in Administration Tourism, JCU Queensland. Her degree focused on Tourism, Conference Management and Finance Administration.

Having gained experience in various sectors of the industry, both in Australia and Overseas, Janelle is keen to further develop her professional experience.
