Susanne Le Boutillier is a former senior executive who has lived what she now speaks about: leading through complexity when the path forward is uncertain. With more than 30 years of leadership experience, she’s worked across frontline, executive, and system-wide roles where expectations were high, conditions messy, and outcomes mattered.

She has led reforms that reshaped Queensland’s then $10 billion health system into 17 independent organisations with 80,000 staff. She’s negotiated with angry clinicians during a public safety scandal and turned frustration into shared problem solving and commitment. These are the kinds of experiences that underpin her practical, human approach to leadership.

Today, Susanne equips leaders with the mindset, tools, and presence they need to stay effective under pressure. She blends executive experience with insights from cognitive science, systems leadership and behavioural research—always delivered in ways that are engaging, practical and immediately usable.

Her work is anchored in the Centring Star™, a framework of five interrelated capabilities that help leaders stay tethered to values, steady in presence, and intentional in action. She is also the co-creator of Ambiguity Apocalypse®, a gamified workshop that gives people a safe way to stress-test how they respond when the ground shifts.

Susanne is the author of Centred: How to Lead with Confidence in Times of Complex Change and is known for her mix of warmth, grounded wisdom, and provocation. She doesn’t just inspire. She equips leaders to lead with confidence, flexibility and resilience—without burning out or losing traction when conditions shift.

Testimonials

I loved Susanne's ability to be flexible with the agenda items and delivery modality to be able to roll with what was working on the day. The work done with Susanne prior helped us to get the most out of the day.

- Queensland Health

We were hearing from our leaders about how they were struggling with constant change and uncertainty. The workshop built understanding, reflection and capability in managing and thriving in complexity. Susanne was highly organised, engaging and professional, with the right mix of activities, group interactions and fun. The main outcome I’ve noticed is that people are using the concepts in daily communication and embracing the skills for leading in complexity.

- Act for Kids

Susanne was like a maestro. She facilitated our executive retreat with just the right tones of light and shadow.
