Nicole Hollows was formerly the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Macarthur Coal for almost five years until the company was taken over by Peabody Energy in late October 2011. She joined the group in 1998 as CFO / Company Secretary and Macarthur Coal Limited listed on 5 July 2001 at $128 million market capitalisation and was just under $5 billion market capitalisation in late October 2011.

Nicole was also formerly a non executive Director of the Board of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and served as President from November 2008 to November 2010. Nicole's memberships include the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Nicole feels strongly about skills and education and is a member of the QUT Faculty of Business Executive Dean's CEO Strategy Group, the Board of the Queensland Museum Foundation and is currently a Board Member of Skills Queensland. In 2009, Nicole was awarded both the QUT Outstanding Alumni Award for Faculty of Business and the Veuve Clicquot Rising Star Award.
