Simone's theatrical expertise includes the direction of a range of iconic musicals such as Les Misérables, CATS, Sound of Music, West Side Story and Phantom of the Opera. She was the Founder and Artistic Director for Mixed Company, Theatre of Comedy, a company she ran for 23 years.
Simone has won theatre industry awards including a coveted Gold Matilda Award for Directing, Acting & Design in 2011 and an ABC Radio Bell Award Best Director/Best Production. She has also worked as a Lecturer at Griffith University (Qld Conservatorium) and Queensland University of Technology in Acting for Musical Theatre and Performance Studies, and as Guest Director for the Opera Studio at the University of Southern Queensland.
