Alex Sloan is the 2017 ACT Citizen of the Year. Alex has been a journalist for 30 years, including over 27 years as a broadcaster with the ABC, including ABC Rural, Radio National and ABC Local Radio.

Alex has presented programs on ABC Radio Canberra including: Drive, Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Gardening, Sunday Brunch, Mornings and Afternoons. Alex has also presented national programs such as The Australian of the Year awards from Parliament House, and filled in for Richard Fidler on “Conversations”. She officially retired from the ABC in January 2017.

Alex is an award winning journalist and highly regarded as an MC, interviewer and facilitator.
