Eurogliders were one of the most successful Australian bands during the 1980s. Formed in Perth in 1980 they gained an immediate following on the west coast and moved east in 1982 to take the rest of the country by storm.

By 1984 Eurogliders had released their chart topping 2nd album, This Island, and released the single, Heaven (Must Be There), that topped the charts in Australia and established them in the US with a chart hit. By 1985 they’d released another chart topping album, Absolutely, which spawned three top ten singles, We Will Together, The City of Soul and Can't Wait to See You.

Before disbanding in the late 1980s, Eurogliders toured Australia, NZ, Japan, the USA and Canada and performed live to an audience of 65 million on the MTV New Year’s Eve show. As well as winning multiple Countdown awards and MTV awards in the US and UK, Eurogliders were recognized for the quality of Bernie Lynch’s song writing, the band’s tight playing and vocal harmonies and the dynamic live performances of lead singer Grace Knight…..one New York critic describing her as a manic ballerina.

Testimonials

Yes, Eurogliders were post-punk and new wave and fitted their times perfectly but as their sterling body of works asserts, they were also soulful, funky and sumptuous - very much a class act. Any chance to have Grace and Bernie back is to be welcomed warmly.
