Tom Cashman is a stand-up comedian and writer with an analytical and comedically devastating style.  Tom is probably best known for his role as the assistant to the Taskmaster, Tom Gleeson, on Taskmaster Australia, currently in season 5.

Tom has guested on shows like Question Everything, Celebrity Letters & Numbers, Planet America, Australia Debates and Tonightly with Tom Ballard.  He also worked as a staff writer on ABC’s Planet America, Tonightly and Win the Week.

Tom was selected as part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Comedy Zone showcase in 2017.  The 2021 lockdown forced Tom onto TikTok, where he’s racked up more than 120 million views. In 2022, he made international news after he asked a prospective landlord for a ‘landlord reference’ and his rental approval was immediately withdrawn.

Between 2022-23, Tom appeared regularly on The Project and The Hundred with Andy Lee, and featured in weekly radio segments on Triple M and Triple J breakfast.   In 2022, he sold out his show Graphs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and toured the show throughout Australia and the UK.

In 2024, Tom returned to screens with Season 3 of Taskmaster Australia, successfully toured his new show, Everything to sold out audiences throughout Australia and Edinburgh and his debut comedy special, PESTS, premiered on YouTube.  2025 saw him back on screens with Season 4 of Taskmaster Australia and on live stages across Australia, New Zealand and the UK with his show, 2 Truths, 1 Lie & 17 Slight Exaggerations.

In 2026, Tom will tour his new show, (NPC) Nearly Proficient Comedian and return to Australian TV screens with Season 5 of Taskmaster Australia.
