Meet Seamus — and this is his story.

As the youngest in his family, he became the tension breaker. When emotions ran high, he’d defuse the room with a joke, a goofy face, or a new naughty joke he’d picked up in the schoolyard. Anything to make his family laugh instead of fight.

That early survival skill turned into his superpower — and led him into a career he never thought was possible.

Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and ADHD at the age of 10, he struggled through school. He was constantly in trouble, labelled disruptive, and felt he’d never amount to much. He wasn’t the kid teachers expected to succeed. He couldn’t sit still, struggled to focus, and often felt like an outsider — that square peg in a round hole.

But he found his passion in making people laugh and telling stories. At 18, he landed his first job on national TV. His boss noticed his tics on screen and warned him: “If this becomes a problem, we’ll replace you.” That moment changed everything. He could have walked away, but instead, he stepped up. He chose not to be a victim of his diagnosis — he chose to work harder, manage his tics, and prove that he belonged.

What followed was a whirlwind two-decade career across TV, radio, and comedy. He hosted Network 10’s *Toasted TV*, became a reporter for *Totally Wild*, and spent years behind the mic on Sea FM, The Hit Network, and NOVA. He even tested his sharpened skills (and material) on the stand-up comedy stage.

Today, he uses those same skills — storytelling, energy and humour — to inspire others as a motivational speaker, MC, and Corporate Media Trainer. Through his signature keynote, *“Turn a Flaw into a SUPERPOWER,”* he empowers people to embrace their challenges, shift their mindset, and reframe adversity into their advantage.

As an ambassador for the Tourette Syndrome Association of Australia, he’s passionate about promoting neurodiversity and creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive — not in spite of their differences, but because of them.

And when he’s not on stage, he runs a creative agency, where he helps businesses tell their story, build their brand, and grow through powerful content and strategy. He believes local businesses are the heart of Australia, and he uses his creative background to make sure their stories are seen, heard, and remembered.

Because no matter where someone starts, how they’re wired, or what obstacles they face — They have the power to build something remarkable.

Testimonials

Seamus not only created a safe space to talk about these challenges and normalised ‘flaws’ but used humour to extend this conversation into being proud of difference. The University of Newcastle looks forward to having you back.

Head Of Sport SLS

We recently had Seamus Evans speak at our annual State Conference – Unlocking Your Potential. Not only was he engaging with our audience, but he was also so easy to work with, personable and spent the time to understand the audience he was addressing. His high energy and enthusiasm were infectious and his journey to change his flaw into a “Superpower”, was thought provoking and inspiring. Our delegates were blow away by his honesty and I can strongly recommend Seamus as one of the best headliners we have had at our conferences. You won’t be disappointed!
