A professional athlete in two sports by the age of 19, Ash’s story is a special one. A true Aussie, she loves her sport, her family and friends and celebrates her Indigenous heritage. She is down to earth, honest and hardworking.

A Junior Wimbledon champion at 15, Fed Cup representative and 3 time Grand Slam doubles finalist by 17, her on court success was phenomenal though perhaps too fast. At 17, Ash needed some time away from tennis. Fortunately though, after a stint in cricket with the Women’s Big Bash League, absence did make the heart grow fonder and with a renewed passion and perspective, she returned to the sport she loves. In 2016, Ash made her tennis comeback.

After a solid 2016, Ash’s rise in 2017 was phenomenal. Winning her first WTA singles title at the Malaysian Open, Ash continued to rise up the rankings, finishing the year at number 17 in the World and as Australia’s number 1 player.

Her success continued in 2018 with two WTA singles title in Nottingham and Zhuhai and a Grand Slam doubles title at the US Open with Coco Vandeweghe.

Ash had a dream in 2019, winning three WTA singles titles (the Miami Open the Birmingham Classic and the WTA Finals), her maiden Grand Slam title at Roland Garros and becoming world number 1 in women’s tennis which she achieved.

Ash Barty won Wimbledon in 2021 to become Australia’s first women's singles champion in 41 years.

After retiring from tennis Ash released her book titled 'My Dream Time: A memoir of tennis and teamwork' in 2022.
